Listen to his music and you will hear as an echo the same wind of freedom. "Unity, Quality, Strength, Difference", such is the philosophy of Francis Mbappe's record label, FM Groove Inc. His two first albums, FM Tribe Vol.1 and Celebration, were revolutionary in the sense that it brought a brand new musical color to the Manhattan music scene. His new album, "Peace is Freedom", releasing in September 2009, reaches the skies of musical accomplishment.
This new production is the result of twenty years of musical research. Francis Mbappe found the way to include all the musical elements that built the musician he is today. In this new production, he combines the essences of (at least) five music genres: funk, jazz, rock, world and of course African music, picking them at their source, retrieving the sap of each of them to create a new musical style, made of the best elements Mother Earth has to offer. Never before have we found a music in which so many influences work together so harmoniously, so essentially.
"Simplicity is actually very difficult to reach," he says. "It relies on attention, thought, knowledge and patience." His experience led him to this high level of musical expression and artistic wisdom. In a world of over-consumption, speed and individualism, a piece of authenticity like this one is a blessing. "Peace is Freedom" est le fruit de vingt années de recherche musicale. Francis Mbappe a trouvé la recette réunissant les nombreux éléments qui l' ont façonné en tant que musicien. Dans cette nouvelle production, il parvient à marier les essences (d'au moins) cinq styles musicaux: funk, jazz, rock, world et musique africaine. Il les recueille à la source, en extrait la sève, et ainsi crée une musique nouvelle faite de ce que Mère Nature produit de mieux.
